Note to self[edit]

Hi; I stumbled across the now red link to this file as it was mentioned earlier on my talk page. You speedily deleted in it January as F10; did you notice that there was a deletion discussion in September at Commons:Deletion requests/File:Little mermaid on tinder.png where Mdaniels5757 decided to keep the image? Gestumblindi (talk) 21:10, 27 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

No, it was a bulk deletion of all of that user's uploads. The Squirrel Conspiracy (talk) 00:29, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I don't think it's a terribly important picture; procedurally, a speedy deletion of a previously formally kept image is a bit questionable, but I'll leave it to Mdaniels5757 to decide whether they think it's worth undeleting or not. Gestumblindi (talk) 19:51, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This kind of thing can happen occasionally when you're using VisualFileChange, because you don't see each file individually, you see them all as a grid with metadata. The Squirrel Conspiracy (talk) 21:25, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Gestumblindi I just took a look at this, thanks for pinging. The DR only considered copyright. On second look, I agree that the image is out of COM:SCOPE (although I'm not sure if it's "personal" within the meaning of F10, and therefore probably wouldn't have intentionally speedily deleted it). Procedurally, although "if a page has survived a prior deletion discussion, it should not be speedy deleted except for newly discovered copyright violations." (COM:CSD), it's not clear to me that it needs to be undeleted to start a new deletion discussion if no one thinks it's actually in scope. But if you think there's any ambiguity, feel free to undelete and send it to DR (although I'd appreciate a ping if you do so). And, to be clear, I do not blame The Squirrel Conspiracy one bit for not noticing the old discussion: VFC just doesn't show that sort of information. 2nd request.[edit]

You didn't respond to my March 20th request here- User talk:The Squirrel Conspiracy/2020#Re-pixelate, please.

Here at File:Ambassador Jack Lew Speaks at the 100 Days Memorial for hostages at Hostage Square in Tel Aviv, Israel on January 13, 2024 - 6.jpg you helped to save an image from deletion. Thanks for that help.

Your DR closing statement was "Posters have been pixelated. Not 100% convinced this is in scope though."

I request that you pixilate the original photo, but do not pixelate the English text on the posters. This would impart more information, while the text is below COM:TOO. Also, this would greatly improve any concerns about COM:SCOPE of the United States Embassy photo. I will be learn how to use GIMP to pixelate photos in the near future. Thank you in advance for your help. -- Ooligan (talk) 23:22, 1 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You're going to need to do it yourself. I can spend very little time on the project at the moment. The Squirrel Conspiracy (talk) 00:51, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@The Squirrel Conspiracy- If you recall, I had already uploaded my own redaction/ covering over the faces that were the subject to the deletion request. This would have passed scrutiny. I also left the text on the posters, because they imparted "in scope" information as well as the text being below COM:ToO.
I will request a revert to my upload previous to yours. Thanks for your response. -- Ooligan (talk) 01:21, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I noticed that this file was a reupload of Special:Undelete/File:Mario series alternate.svg, which you deleted as a copyvio. I think it is below COM:TOO US and COM:TOO Japan, so I am not nominating it for deletion. But I wanted to let you know so you can start a DR if you disagree. Best, —‍Mdaniels5757 (talk • contribs) 18:27, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion requests[edit]

Hello, I noticed that you requested a couple of photographs: Commons:Deletion requests/File:Poster compitition photo 156 (4812306178).jpg and Commons:Deletion requests/File:Poster of Otji toilets (5200592881).jpg. Both of these files are from Sustainable Sanitation Alliance] which doesn't copyright any of their photographs. Their aim is free use. Krok6kola (talk) 22:12, 7 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
